One More Comment on the Louvre

As Tom said, we spent most of our time at the Louvre in the Egyptian section, but as we were preparing to leave, someone asked whether we shouldn't go and see the Mona Lisa.  Scott D. opined, "Well, we are at the Louvre..." and we were off!  So here she is-- you can tell I did not engage in the pushing, shoving or patience it would have taken to get closer.

On the opposite wall of the room is Paolo Veronese' painting of the Wedding at Cana-- very beautiful and impressive because of its sheer size and complexity.  And I just learned from Wikipedia that it is the largest painting in the Louvre.  There is an extensive history on Wikipedia if you are interested, and a much better image of this beautiful painting.
